User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsA fire may improve it: Now closed and undergoing extensive renovation, Whalen's Irish Pub, a neighborhood landmark for years had forgotten that it is exactly that, a neighborhood Irish Pub. A change of ownership and management style attempted to change the folksy atmosphere. A noon lunch special is usually very good, but the availability and quality of evening food is undependable. Once a quiet spot to enjoy a drink with friends, recently the noise level has increased. A fire in October forced closing, and the pub is now getting a complete inside facelift. But will this just be a cosmetic change, or will the owners re-think the direction of this place.

The famous Bar & Grill has reopened and is back to being your Irish Pud around the corner. The normal people are back and the noise lver is down. As for as food, I can not say.
