Been their on several occasions prior to tonight, service was usually soso, however, tonight the service was terrible. Waitress was hard to find and food was delivered to the table cold.
I asked to speak to the mngr., the waitress said we only have an owner. I asked to speak to him, her answer was, he is at the farm. I expained the problem to the waitress and she explained to me that the dinner I ordered was to be served at room temperature. She didn't believe me that the sandwich was cold, not even luke warm, and I must have startled the waitress when I told her about the order. Everything was my fault. When I advised I wasn't coming back, she said we are all family here, and said (something to the effect) suit yourself.
I get cravings for Penny's pork steaks at least once a month!! And the steaks really should be called pork roasts! It is enough meat for at least one more if not 3 more meals. Last time my husband and I shared an entree and had enough to take home for the next day. Sides aren't the best ever, but I really am not that interested in them anyway. We usually get the baked potato and applesauce. I always think you need something with apples when you have pork!
The atmosphere isn't. But you make your own. The servers always seem really busy, but if you smile, and are nice, gosh darn if they aren't really nice just back to you!
i finally had the chance to go to pennies ,and i must say that i was not surprised . the food and service were super , the portions were quite amazing . the decor was a little rough but a restaraunt is made or broken on the food in my opinon, and pennies was put on my list of " made " . i will be looking forward to sampling all of the entrees at this fine eating establishment.
