| About: | Talayna's name comes from a Yiddish word meaning Italian, and it's a fitting and clever name for this casual eatery. The menu includes every Italian standard from Lasagna to Cannelloni, and they are locally known for their various styles of pizza. The ambiance is very casual and perfect for families. Talayna's also has large Banquet and party rooms available, and they even offer catering. |

EXCELLENT ITALIAN!!! HUGE PORTIONS!!! Does Lack in the dining experience however. Go there for the food not the service! They need a revamp to the old Talayna's!!! Better wait staff- and bring back the owner to be there all the time and he will have a gold mine producing again!
You cannot beat there Italian- I am a fan or Massa's but Talayna's flavor still takes the 1st Place Prize!!! PS They are closed on Mondays but go there for Lunch and try the baked Lasagna its the way they make it in Italy~
A legacy. Has served the best pizza in this town since the 1960s. As good as any pizza in the US. Have lived in and visited Italy for many years and the hand made crust Mike makes rivals any crust anywhere. The rest of the pie is great, "using better quality ingredients than the normal recipe calls for".
The house and caeser salads are both great. The baked pasta dishes are sort of unique to this town. Copied by many restaurants in St Louis. The pizza and that great crust though is what makes Talaynas Talaynas. The thin crust "ST Louis-style" is the feature, the thick crust "NY and Chicago-style" a favorite, while Mike has never gotten the deep dish pizza on the order of excellence as his other pies. This is among the top pizza houses in the US.
