My family and I were on vacation and dined at this restaurant on March 17th at around 2:00PM. I take my teams to Cheesecake Factory Restaurants quite often for corporate dinners and lunches at different CFs. The food is always ok.
This was the worst experience I have had at a Cheesecake Factory however. We had numerous problems with our food and I ended up not having lunch after all. We ordered and my daughters and my food arrived at our table within about 20 minutes. My husband's grilled salmon arrived about 10-15 minutes after ours. No explanation was offered as to why there was such a delay. I had waited to start eating until his food arrived, which by that time my food was not warm, which was fine, since I ordered lettuce wraps.
When I started to eat, I realised there were strands of hairs thru out my chicken and the sauce used for the lettuce wraps. There were MANY of them, so I couldn't just pick them off. It was obviously the bristles from the brush used to baste the chicken for cooking. I understand this does happen. I called the waiter over and told him this and he promptly took the plate away. After 15 minutes, I received a new plate of lettuce wraps - and when I went to eat it, the 2nd plate of lettuce wraps had the same issue - bristles in the food. The chicken was coated with it and it was in the sauce as well.
I called the waiter over once again and showed him the bristles that I'd pulled off the chicken and out of the peanut sauce. He said he would go to get a manager. The manager came over after about 10 mins. By this time, my daughter was done with her food. I'd not had any lunch and we had been at lunch for over an hour and a half. The manager told me that the hairs were most likely ginger, which is in the sauce. I had tasted the bristles - which tasted like hair and they definitely were not ginger, but he attempted to try to convince me that they weren't bristles. The waiter had felt them and agreed that they definitely were not supposed to be in my food. They were pointy and stiff - I cook a lot and am very familiar with spices. These were not ginger. I told him to try them and he just offered bring me another plate of lettuce wraps.
By this time I had lost my patience and appetite for any food at the Cheesecake Factory. The manager took my meal off our check and offered to give us a piece of cheesecake for free. I was VERY disappointed in how the manager handled this - trying to convince me that there wasn't something wrong with my food and I was wrong - as well as the amount of time this meal took. Over $50 dollars later for a lunch that I didn't get to eat and we left. I am not certain I will be returning to any Cheesecake Factory in the future because of the bad experience we had at this particular one. I rarely complain at a restaurant but this was a bad food experience and it was one of the worst I've had at a restaurant. The waiter actually did as much as he could and we appreciated his service.
One of my favorites--not cheap but good for a chain. The crab cake sandwich is great--enough for two--as well as the crispy spicy beef. Be prepared to wait otherwise go a little before the lunch or dinner rush. Don't plan on eating dessert if you eat a meal--way to much. But you can get your cheesecake to go, otherwise go just for dessert and coffee.
"Good, but gets old. Very, very quickly."
I recommend the Stuffed Chicken Tortillas or the Fettucini with Chicken and Sun-Dried Tomatoes. And for dessert, try the White Chocolate Caramel Latte Cheesecake. Its a mouthful to say, and makes your stomach FULL due to it being EXTREMELY rich, so if you and a couple of friends still have room for dessert (a feat I normally can't accomplish), then get two and split them! As small as they seem, they are filling! If you get four, you have wasted $28.00 on food you can't finish!
The theme of the place screams "Dimly Lit (which can be good and bad) Ancient Egyptian Disney Land Magic," but what you really get is food that screams "Okay"
*Service/Reservation Tip- If the hostess says the wait is going to be 15-30 minutes long, it is ALWAYS at least 30 minutes or more. Call and reserve before you have to wait an hour and forty-five minutes for decent food!*
