Have been there 40 or 50 times to drink in the bar area and learned a long time ago not to eat the food there. Medicore mexican food at its best. The refried beans are like watered down bean pure. The chicken in the chicken dishes has a funky chemical taste, almost like lighter fluid. Do yourself a favor and order a pizza next door, but be sure to have a margarita at Tequilas as they are generous with the tequila and there 5 beers for $10 is a good deal, especially with the Mexican beers. Friendly and boisterous atmosphere.

Now I know why their refried beans tasted like watered down bean puree. Not long ago, Tequilas was shut down for a couple of days by the St. Louis County Health Dept as they got caught taking left-over refried beans off of customers plates and re-serving it.
I'm sorry, but I find that very hard to believe-sorry; but I love this place!
