| About: | Eclectic is the theme in this independently owned restaurant and a relaxed atmosphere enhances the casual decor of Riddles. You can listen to live blues and jazz while sampling the Steak Marchand de Vin, which comes grilled to order with a French-Creole sauce. Fresh seafood specials are prepared daily, and all entrees include a fresh vegetable and choice of salad or soup. Many of the recipes are Andy's own creations, and much of the desserts are homemade. The inside has a bistro-style decor, and there are additional tables outside, making Riddles a good choice for businesspeople looking for a great meal and a laidback place to invite colleagues. |

No Riddle here-Best Restuarant in Missouri: This casual restaurant has locally grown items of every sort, tremendous imported foor and beverages. I urge you to try it- Of over 2000 restaurants I have dined in-Riddles Penultimate is the best I have yet tried. I dont own it/work there or know anyone who does- I just love it! Changing menus, great service, and the finest food I have ever had. And now on to their homemade desserts-WOW! As my gf says "Yummy!"
Riddle me this.......: Why did it take me so long to go to this wonderful wine bar? This was the question I asked myself this past weekend.
The menu reads like a J Peterman catalog--stories of where the food was grown locally and descriptions sounding so delicious. The food did not disappoint. There was a lot of variety and complexity to it. Service was superb. The server made excellent recommendations on the food and the wine. I will definitely be visiting again.
Andy is a Demigod!: Whether you are looking for a fabulous hamburger or an Epicurean delight. Andy is gonna hook you up!
Tucked away in the heart of the eclectic Delmar loop area, you will walk in the door to find a warm, yet unassuming décor. With the large wood bar and wooden booths, you might think you are in a regular, run of the mill bar. You could not be more wrong.
Local musicians are on board every night of the week, bringing your daily dose of blues and jazz.
The staff is very laid back and friendly. They will bring you the DAILY menu. All items on the menu are fresh, organic and most are from local growers and small farms. If Andy cannot find it fresh locally, he will make sure the salmon you are eating this evening was caught yesterday! From appetizers (try the blue cheese stuffed mushrooms) to fresh veggies to main dishes, everything is more delicious than you expect. And the magical garlic mashed potatoes are just that, magical!
Then there is the fat binder that is the wine menu. To say Andys wine menu is extensive is an understatement. If you are unsure of what wine to have with your Chicken Major Grey, Fillet Delmar
or Cajun Cavatelli , your waitperson is more than willing and able to assist
Still have room for desert? How does home made ice cream hit you? Or perhaps you would rather have cheesecake. Not too much room, have a nibble of the St. André Cheese and Fuji apples.
Keep in mind, that just because you had dinner at Riddles on Tuesday, Friday is a whole different day and a different fresh menu! Why not go back. We do! Again and again!
