THEY CHARGE MY WIFE $350 TO NOT FIX IT. I FIX IT MYSELF FOR $4. THESE GUYS ARE A JOKE. My wife brought her car there twice for the same problem. They charge for a new computer diagnostic each time but they still can't fix the problem. They replace parts but it doesn't solve anything. They seem to be just guessing at what the problem might be and I'm paying for it. So far, the visits have been a waste of money as the exact same problem remains despite hundreds of dollars spent on their guesses. None of their "repairs" have solved the problem. We had the car there two days ago. My wife just called from the highway (more than 10 miles away) saying that the car is dying on her with the same problem they supposedly diagnosed and fixed two days ago. Being Saturday, Columbia Auto Repair is closed. So far I have found Columbia to be a frustrating and expensive non repair shop. Since they were closed, I Googled the symptoms myself. Took 5 minutes to discover that all it needed was a new battery cable end! $4 fixed it. 4 bucks. Well, that and the $350 that these yahoos charged me to not fix a damn thing. What a joke! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I can Google the answer but these "experts" and their expensive "diagnostic" can't figure out to replace a cable end? Really? UPDATE & CLARIFICATION: THIS IS NOT A LIE! THIS WAS MY EXPERIENCE. WHY WOULD I LIE ABOUT GETTING SCREWED OVER BY YOU GUYS? YOU THINK I PAID $354 JUST SO I COULD POST A NEGATIVE REVIEW? PLEASE. I WAS CHARGED DIAGNOSTIC FEES BOTH TIMES. AND THE REPAIR WAS ULTIMATELY FIXED BY GOOGLING THE SYMPTOMS ON A FORUM AND INSTALLING A $4 PART. THEM'S THE FACTS, BUB. I GUESS I SHOULD ADD THAT COLUMBIA AUTO REPAIR IS QUICK TO FALSELY ACCUSE THEIR CUSTOMERS OF LYING TO HIDE THEIR OWN INCOMPETENCE! AT COLUMBIA AUTO REPAIR THE CUSTOMER IS NEVER RIGHT! HOW ABOUT WORRYING ABOUT FIXING CARS (YOU APPARENTLY NEED THE PRACTICE) INSTEAD TRYING TO FIX AN ACCURATE AND HONEST REVIEW FROM A PAYING CUSTOMER? The world would be a better place if people would just be accountable instead of making excuses and deflecting the blame to others. Columbia Auto Repair is the unbelievable party here (unbelievable they would treat a repeat customer so poorly and then accuse the customer of lying in a yahoo review)!
