| About: | Finding a wonderful restaurant in a strip mall is always a surprise. The decor at Gerard's is contemporary, but intimate and comfortable. Do not miss the Caesar salad. It is one of the best in town. For an appetizer, the crab cakes are delightful. Seafood is its specialty, with a broad selection of fish entrees always on the menu. Try the charbroiled Opaka Snapper with white wine sauce. If you are not a fish lover, the beef tenderloin medallions in a Madeira sauce were superb. The wine list has received kudos from Wine Spectator magazine. |

User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsUnique and amazing only begin to describe this hidden jewel of St. Louis Restaurants. You can make it upscale or casual, and the owner makes you feel like the most important guest in the room.
The food is as good as you will find anywhere on the planet, and it is prepared with the watchful eye of the owner as if he were serving it to his family.
It is in an unusual place, a strip-mall in Des Peres, but once you enter the front door, all of that disappears and you know you've discovered a new experience in dining. Truly a place to bring friends for a special occasion or your regular, at least once a week, place to treat your significant other. I made it mine for many years until I had to move out of town, but trust me, I don't make a trip back to St. Louis without dining there as many times as I can. Friends in St. Louis still thank me for introducing them to Gerard's, as they now call it "Their Special Place".

This is one of the best restaurant in the st.louis area. They have wonderful food and great customer service. It is a good place to have a relaxing dinner with a special someone or a group of friends.
