About:An old bank building in University City was converted several years ago to a combination root beer brewery and family restaurant, Fitz's draws an enthusiastic crowd of college students, adults and children. Diners can watch the root beer making and bottling processes through a large glass partition, all the while enjoying good pub food such as hamburgers, pizzas, etc. The root beer, a revered St. Louis formula that dates back to an old roadside stand from the 1940s, is terrific, too.

    Service was terrible I reported my concern to the owner due to management was very rude but never received a response. The Woman manager very unprofessional and focused on other issues other than my grandmothers concern I love the loop but I will never visit Fitz's again. Cold food and wasn't made as ordered

    Root beer & root beer float - excellent
    Service - very good
    Fries - very good
    Burgers - not good

    Why they have burgers on their menu at all (and they have a lot of varieties) is a question to me. The buns and toppings were good, but the burgers themselves taste kind of like filler, with no texture and they were not hot. I wondered about the quality of this "beef".

    FYI - Everyone at our table who ordered a burger was disappointed, but everyone who ordered other things (chicken, fish, salad) liked their food.
