User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsPassing through Hannibal, stopped at Ole Planters. The guide book said homemade and they weren't kidding! I had smoked bratwurst with sauerkraut, others had smoked turkey, and smoked BBQ beef, all were delicious. They have a smoker out back! You get 3 sides corn, green beans, and red skin potatoes. Generous portions, all our entrees were $9.00. With the dinner you get a trip to the salad bar, which isn't much, iceberg, baby carrots, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and a few other things I didn't get. Yes we got cans of warm pop, but we poured them over ice and they were fine. If I were in Hannibal I would certainly stop again, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! Unfortunately no room to try homemade pie.
User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsso bad it dont get a rating was there on 8/5/09 there were 5 of us i ordered the smoked bbq pork it was awfull the only way it got the smoke flavor was from liqued smoke and too much of that the german chocolate pie was dried out and hard the salad bar had lettuce tomatoes whole baby carrots and thats it it was bad as some of the veggies were not good the green beans cold and dry the soda was in a can and hot when i told the waittress she just shrugged her sholders my mom was with us her fish could have been used as a weapon as hard as it was would never go back

My husband and I ate here this past weekend and loved it. He ordered a full slab of baby back ribs expecting them to be the small ones he is used to. There was enough there for both of us. They were full size ribs. I had prime rib. It had a good flavor but was a little tough. The service was good and the atmosphere friendly.
