Disappointing--altho the high ratings,,not at all pleased,,the inside of the building is very nice..We went at about 3:00pm,were seated (7 of us) on the main floor..the service was horrible, cant image what it would have been if it had been crowded..our server kept disappering, we waited and waited, by the time he came to take drink orders, we were ready to order the food..soup of the day was wonderful, but, for almost $5, the bowl was tiny,,not small, tiny..salads were ok,,,food did come pretty quick, but,,the sandwichs were soggy, the pork was way way undercooked, the pasta was tasteless and 1 person who ordered the Chicken Oscar was not happy..i wish there had been more reviews to read. One more thing, there dress code (only no sleeveless shirts 4 men) not a problem, but really think that 4 a family restaurant, the female servers could wear something more appropriate than hooters shorts.
Just noticed, almost of the reviews here are from previous years.
I love this restaurant, me and my family have been coming to Lewis & Clark's for years and I have not once had a bad time. I even came here with my whole family the day I was married. They have great services and most important, great food. I hope you enjoy this restaurant as much as me.
I went her with my husband in the summer and my husband had a sleeveless shirt on. He was asked to wear one of their t-shirts because men cannot have sleeveless shirts. This was not a tank top, a "wife beater", simply sleeveless. He put on the t-shirt and we were seated. After being seated I see at the table next to us a woman with not only sleeveless shirt on, but so low cut and revealing I could see most of her breasts! That was offensive. My husband and I are very clean, neat individuals with good personal hygiene. I told him I wanted to leave, why would I want to spend money in a place that discriminates. When we contacted the manager a few days later to tell him of this situation he basically said, too bad, that's our policy. The server and the hostess even said when giving us the shirt how "stupid" they thought this policy was. Women you can come in half naked if you want, but men make sure you are covered head to toe, neck to fingertips. This is not an inexpensive restaurant either. We left, went to the Outback Steakhouse just a little way from there, were welcomed in, had a wonderful, delicious dinner, and wasn't discrimated against or didn't have to look at the breasts of the woman sitting next to me either. I would not recommend this place at all, for any reason, for anytime!

This is one of my favorite restaurants and it is always packed because so many love it. So I guess a few less people going there can be a good thing for me. Dress codes are not an evil thing especially in St. Charles home of the flannel shirts. But really, the food is incredible and service has always been good to me so to say you wouldn't recommend it "at all for any reason" really isn't very fair.
