User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI have been going to Java Co. very regularly for the past 3 years. I have always been treated very respectfully and served in a timely manner.
The coffee is great. It surpasses any other coffee that I have tried. The barista use all locally roasted beans for the drip and espresso and the drinks are true coffee, cot a cup of liquid sugar.
The food is always great and the bread is exceptional especially when is is right out of the oven. And finally, it is a great place to study and they do a good job of remembering their regulars.

Java Co is the only place in Kirksville to study and drink coffee. Unfortunately, the prices always seem to be going up. Additionally, the service is incredibly slow, they seem to be continuously understaffed, the food is completely inconsistent, as well as the coffee drinks. I keep going back because it's better than being locked up in the library, but it seems unfair that a business geared toward the college crowd isn't more budget friendly. Good bagels, sometimes good other stuff, but only if you can catch it on a fresh day...

Dear Anon, First thank you for your business and comments. We at Java Co are very sad that you have had a bad experience here. First we try to staff according to our most consistent times, as for prices, I wish prices were different... The good news is all our food is made from scratch as we don't like preservatives and believe "home-made" is best not perfect. We also by locally which of course is more expensive but hopefully worth it. Thank you again, as your comments keep up trying even harder. 
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsDubbed "Java Co", Washington Street Java Company is the place to study (for Truman students and KCOM students) over good coffee and cafe style food in Kirksville. Since they are open a little later now than they used to be, it's a good casual date spot also.
I would rate it five stars, but since the prices have been raised, I pay more at Java Co than I would at Panera in St. Louis or Kansas City, but since it's the only one of it's kind here in Kirksville, that's the way things go, I guess.Comments (1)

Dear Hunbun, First thank for your business and comments. Then please note that we make all our food from scratch in our kitchen with no preservatives. Also we buy local produce which is slightly higher but hopefully worth it. Prices are unfortunately out of my control, I wish there was a better answer, however....

I agree with "kirksvillestudent". Washington St. Java Co. is one of my favorite places to go. Good food, good drinks,good atomosphere, good friends. Oh and good baristas. :) If you get the chance, check it out-you won't be sorry.
