The tornados that struck there in kirksville brought my attention back there. I often think of Pancake city and looked it up. I was a waitress there 20 years ago and it was great. I miss the people I worked with not the people I worked for. Yes there were drunks but thats to be expected after all they are open all night. the food was greasy but ooohhh so good. The collge kids were there as much as the locals. But if anyone needed to find someone -well that was the place to go.As far as discrimination on the color of a person. Well its still a hick town and will always be. I have moved many times since I worked there and married a man of color, Im not so sure the people I worked with would be so accepting now either, but then the ones I worked with knew me as fun crazy and also wild thing. So Im not so sure it would suprise them. It may have a bad name but it used to be the place to go 20 years ago and if I ever get a chance I will deffinately go back and get hashbrowns a pancake and coffee. Maybe -hopefully see some old friends.Meet new people and enjoy. My heart goes out to the people who have lost or hurt because of the tornado. But I am glad to see Pancake City is still going and serving that great coffee and greasy food as it did 20 years ago. I am also sorry for the closed minded people who are still stuck in the color war -we all have the same color blood and God's own breath in all of us no matter the color.Someone have a cup of coffee for me,my name is Sandy the cook used to call me wild thing.

Living in the 21st century, you wouldnt think people of color would be treated the way they get treated here. Im sorry the color of money is all the same. Too bad for the prejudice, your waitress could of had a nice fat tip, not counting the money that could of been made feeding 6 very hungry people. Cant comment on the food, because we didnt have a chance to eat anything.

Well , lets see, they are prejudice and not so good service. The prejudice will be the #1 thing keeping me away from here..
