I am reviewing the Hamden one now open on Dixwell ave and i was not impressed at all. Went with a few friends and one got a burger it was ok not cooked the way asked, the steak was ok as well could have gotten better at Friday's down the road for a lot cheaper. I got a chicken rolitini and everything was cold and the chicken had chunks of cartilage in it and the sauce had no taste. And on another note the people sitting next to us order chicken tenders and they were uncooked when they bit into them. The only things that was pretty good were the pizza and the prepackaged frozen chicken wings we got for an appetizer. Finally ive heard other things about there food from other people who go there saying alot of it has no taste or is usually cold because there service is so slow. Also the menu is very small only 2 pages and the atmosphere is kinda odd, one minute they play like rock, then there playing madona, then rap/hiphop, then elton john and then some like techno kinda of odd music selection they have. All in all its a brewery so there beer is good. However for there food part its badly prepared food for a very high cost I would not recommend going unless your going to the bar but then again you can go to any bar and get the same bar service with better food.
Perfection: Each time we go is better than the last. The food is over the top special, the service is the best, and the atmosphere is interesting; perhaps, the best restaurant on Rt. 1.
Great place, just don't drink the beer!: A nice location and atmosphere and seems to have a good crowd. They also do cool things like have Texas Hold Em' tournaments on Tuesday nights. BUT...they are a brewery and the beer is completely awful. This is something I have heard from many other people as well. When I go there I usually will drink something other than what they brew. Please please please do something about this SBC; check your lines, use purified water, whatever, you are losing business becuase of it. People like the idea of beer named after their town/neighborhood etc., but it has to be drinkable. The beer here tastes like metal. Seriously.
