I was told this was the place to get my cake for my wedding reception. Despite the price, I went ahead and ordered over the phone, after looking at their website. The cake was decorated beautifully, but when you are eating something, the looks are a small part of it. It was horrible. The cake was dry, the icing had a very strange taste, and as a whole left a weird, plastic aftertaste. I was so disappointed. Most of the cake was thrown away, and none of the leftover could be given away, so was thrown away also. To give them the benefit of the doubt, I took my kids up to the store to have a treat and myself some coffee. Wow! Same deal, we bought an eclair, brownie, lemon square, and a cookie. It was all like that funny, plastic gross taste. I had even asked some of my friends about it afterward, and they all said the same thing. Needless to say...We won't be back!
After taste testing wonderful cake sample, my husband and I decided to order our wedding cake from the Patry Goddess even though it was very expensive. We threw the entire cake plus two sheet cakes away because it went untouched at the reception. We couldn't even give it away. It was still cold in the middle from being made in advance and then frozen. It was dry and disgusting. After calling them with my complaint, they asked if I had save any for them to try. Uh, no, it was too horrible to save!!! Heed my advice: do not use the Pastry Goddess for the biggest day of your life unless you enjoy throwing your money away!
What a cake!!: They may be a bit pricey but they are very good!
