The food comes out quick and is always fresh and the place is always very clean!! I had the catfish for the first time the other night and it was amazing!!! Everyone should try this place out!

This is one of the few "great BBQ restaurants" that really know how to dish it out! There is no comparison with portion or price, they are both great. My husband and I have taken family and friends to the Pit and they too were impressed with the service, food, and over all atmosphere. We always have a wonderful time. As much as we love the food; the beans are to die for, we also love the homemade bread pudding! If you've never had the bread pudding, you're missing out on another one of the great pleasures the Pit has to offer!

We love this place. Just had family in from Texas and they wanted to go to another BBQ place they had heard of (one that is well known in KC) but my husband said "wait I'll take you where we love to go and then if your not completely satified we'll go to the place you read about" Needless to say, we only had BBQ once during their visit. They loved it!!! Stop by and enjoy this restaurant. We've had nothing but great food, great times and great service at Summit Hickory Pit!!! If you're a first timer give the potato casserole a try!!!!!!!!
