I love this museum.
I went here for a field trip my
freshman year of high school.
The display is impressive.
Walking up on it is impressive.
They built it with things in mind.
After all, it IS a representation of wwi!
There's this area around the museum
to take pictures and have a picnic too.
I loved it so much that I've been anticipating
on taking my grandpa (vietnam veteran)
to come see it because I think he'll absolutely
love it! The display isn't rinky dinky.
It's updated and has modern takes on its
exhibit. Something I'd lovee to spend the
whole day seeing.
They have special events in the museum,
so it's not always the same thing aaall
the time. The location is perfect.
Its nearby union station (SCIENCE CITY!)
which has free exhibits too and by crown
center shopping center which is home to
a variety of boutique stores and specialty
stores and other things.
Also: admission here? not expensive.
Period. How do they do it...
I've been to a lot of museums, and this is one of the best. We took my parents and our teenage kids to see the museum, and were frankly worried that the kids would get bored. As it turns out, the kids really got into all the multimedia exhibits, and my parents enjoyed the display cases.
By the way, it's well worth the extra money to visit the actual memorial tower...the view of the Kansas City skyline is pretty spectacular.
