At Pierpont's, we've given new meaning to the phrase, "The Best Steak in Kansas City." Now we've done for seafood, what we did for steak . . . Absolutely the best seafood in Kansas City -- Guaranteed! The Pierpont's invites you to experience Pierpont's at Union Station. Dubbed "the culinary jewel" of Kansas City's historically renovated Union Station, Pierpont's is rapidly gaining the reputation of serving Kansas City's finest steak and seafood selections. As a sister restaurant to Kansas City's legendary Hereford House, Pierpont's maintains the family tradition of serving prime steak, perfectly aged and prepared. With fresh seafood arriving daily, an award winning wine list, and the unique creations of some of the areas finest chefs, Pierpont's has been named "Best Place to Entertain an out-of-town Guest" and "Best Place to take a Group" from the local press.

Are you a sophisticated wine drinker? Do you have a cellar in your house? Do you have a taste for expensive whiskey? If you answered yes to any of the above, then Pierpont's at Union Station is a must-visit place for you.
Pierpont's has one of the largest wine selection of any resturant in the Kansas City area. If you are more into hard liquor than wine, you wont' be dissappointed either. You can get whiskey that costs over $100 per shot or in a mixed drink for little more. Everything from the style of the menu to the decoration of this resturant is fit for royalty. Their menu offers a wide selection. I tried thier fillet mignon even though the fish of the day or the quarter chicken looked equally appetizing. Fillet was nice and tender, but a little low of the flavor scale. Unlike many other upscale resturants, my fillet actually came with the choice of a side item. Pierpont's also had a decent dessert selection (very important for me!)
The atmosphere is semi-loud, crowd ranging from business folks to prom dates. There is a stylish lounge area downstairs near the wine cellar with a seperate bar. So if you are in the mood for just some quality drinks, then head straight down.
All in all, Pierpont's is a good place to try if you are in the Kansas City area. The resturant being inside the Union Station definitly makes it a lot more attractive.
I was at Pierpoint's for lunch recently and very impressed with the waitstaff as well as the delightful menu. We will return for an evening meal soon and very much looking forward to it.
Don't you have any reviews posted since 2005? It seems very strange, to only read such outdated ones.
My favorite restaurant, ever. Food is fantastic (the salmon, walnut/pear salad are beyond tasty, not to mention their version of a banana split--holy cow!!), the music is relaxing without making you sleepy, the staff is knowledgeable without being snooty, and they have a martini menu that will blow you away. Used to really like American Restaurant at Crown Center, but Pierpont's blows them out of the water both in quality and price. Besides... the history of Union Station and the decor really make it that much more fun to go.
