This place is hit or miss which is ridiculous with the prices they charge it should ONLY be awesome every time. The first time I went there I had one of the best meals I've ever eaten..they made me a pasta with shrimp, scallops, and crab in a lemon garlic butter especially for me....I was impressed. The tuna and salmon sashimi appetizer is to die for! the freshest sushi in town. We also had the raw oysters platter, it was absolutely divine, I had no idea there were so many types of oysters.
However, the last two times I went there it was very mediocre. I had the mixed gill and my rib eye steak was terrible and for the love of God don't have the seafood newburg or the pasty, gummy crab cakes...wow. Also the service is hit or miss sometimes you will get a seasoned pro and sometimes you get a ding bat, clueless, college kid. The last time I was there our waitress, had to make several "oops, I forgot" trips and then she left the table for over 30 min and I had to go find a manager so we could leave.
They have a great happy hour but I don't think I will be having dinner there for along time if ever, I work too hard for my money to spend it on food I can get anywhere for cheaper.
My husband and I have enjoyed many good meals in this restaurant but last Sat night I had the combination stuffed lobster tail and steak. What a disappointment! The tail was so small it couldn't even be stuffed. It was dried out and tough. Since we were in the back room and it was crowded, we did not want to complain in front of everyone. I have had much better lobster at Red Lobster. When we spend that amount for food and drinks, I expect quality food.
My wife and I really love this place. It is higher end than a few other seafood places in town, but they really separate themselves with the cuisine and atmosphere. The stuffed salmon is awesome, and the chocolate bag is a perfect way to finish off any meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant for entertaining a client, or celebrating a special occasion (ask for a snug). Make a reservation though; this place fills up quick, especially around the holidays. Not bad at all for a high-end chain seafood establishment.
