We know people (usually from St. Louis) who think this is great pizza and compare it to a place called Imo's. We've never lived in St. Louis and can only compare it to the national chains and Pizza Shoppe (a more of less local chain).
To us Leo's was horrible, like eating Velveeta on a Saltine cracker. Skimpy ingredients, poor cheese and actually soggier than a cracker, more like a wet cracker.
I love Leo's Pizza! By far the best thin crust pizza alive! Way better than Imo's. Back in the day they had one in Blue Springs by the Blue Springs 8 Movie Theatre that I ate at all the time. Hell I don't even think that Theatre is there anymore Either.
I have friends and family from Colorado ... Iowa ... Arizona ... Maryland ... Texas ... and more -- and there's one thing they all have in common: when they come to KC, they EXPECT that one night of the trip I'll serve Leo's famous pizza. It's unlike anything else (and ten-times better than its St. Louis counterpart!)
