About:The decor is rustic and elegant with modern art on bronze colored walls, dim lights and white tablecloths and napkins. Carmen's Cafe serves an Italian cuisine with an emphasis on fresh pasta dishes, with veal, chicken, pork and steak entrees. Appetizers, soups, salads, tapas, side dishes and desserts complete the menu. They have an upscale bar with a black counter and rust colored chairs.     The Paella is the best in KC. I would love to hear where I could find better.

    Good food and cozy atmosphere. I think the best thing to do is eat at the bar and see your food cooked right in front of you. John Michael will take care of you if you sit there. The servers are not the typical kind you'd find at a traditional Italian restaurant since most of them are Mexican.

    Good place though, could use a better wine list.

    I absolutely adore Carmen's. It's quaint and authentic. It reminds me of hte cafe's that I ate in when I was touring Italy. Get the Judy's rigatoni! It's to die for.
