There is no Nick!! But Tony more than makes up for it. The only thing that surpasses the warm greeting at the door and the great service at the tables is the food. The seafood is fresh, the meats cooked to perfection, the pasta dishes are generous and served in bowls and dishes that remind you of home (or someone else's home if you are not Italian). The marinara is perfect. Try the fried calamari, the eggplant parmigiana and all of the veal and chicken dishes. Then there is the pizza!! Best around! No need to go to Pepe's, Sally's or Modern, you get New Haven pizza without leaving the shoreline. Nice job Tony!!! Ciao
Where to Go when you don't feel like cooking: Finally, at long last, Guilford has a "mom and pop" Italian restaurant that serves very good fare at reasonable prices. The eggplant parmigiana is especially good here, as the sauce is delectable and the eggplant is sliced wafer thin. The pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage is a winner as well- the sausage is lean and spicy and the pasta is al dente. House wines complete the picture, and if that is not enough, they serve great garlic bread and regular bread with olive oil!
All of this in a setting that reminds us of a fine trattoria in Italy.
