This is the best Italian resturaunt in Kansas City. I havn't been there in awhile, and they remodled and the building looks great. The food is amazing! The owner even came over to chat with us. Very friendly people. Nice service. The best lasagna I've ever had. And my husband had the chicken caramia- breaded chicken breast over noodles in an artichoke creame sause- to die for!
Never had a bad meal at Cafe' Italia, nor has the rest of my family. We've eaten here several times and never had any problems with the food, the staff, the decor. Yes it's a little run down, so what? Guess you had to be there if you've had the negative experience.
Linguini and red clam sauce a personal favorite.
I have eaten there twice and, honestly, the food left alot to be desired. The first time, the vegetables in the sauce were raw, not cooked until done at all, the second time I ate there about 5 years later and the food was so salty! I don't know how they manage to remain in business. Even the Olive Garden is better than this! Next time I'm jonesin for Italian, I'll go back to Cascone's!
