Drove from Independence to have dinner 7:30 pm. We ordered a filet (was perfect) and the prime rib dinner. Prime was ordered Med and was cold and tough as leather. I have many years in the food business and this ps of meat was not cooked that day. I never complain or write reviews but after telling the wait staff and the reaction was as he thought I was crazy. He never offered to discount it or remove it from the ticket but ask me if I wanted a box!! So I ate 1/2 of my wife's filet. After that he kept calling me Boss?50.00 plus tip and to be called Boss for what?. We won't be driving to Joplin to eat there anytime soon.
Just ate there this evening and the service was great BUT the onion blossom was over-cooked. We had the steak for 2. My baked potato was small and not good, the steak was fine but not a true steak cut in my opinion, kind of like a rump roast or cheaper piece of beef cut to steak dimensions. Probably wont go back for a good while. The only good steak in Joplin is Wilders. My wife and I rate this dinner a 4 out of 10.
I just wanted to say that I am a waitress at Jim Bobs and can honostly say that the previous statements are not true, though I have not worked there since May, I do not think that this many things can change in two months. I know for a fact that half of it is not true because the owners do not have a son old enough to go around hitting people's behinds, he is only in first grade so he would not be full of himself like this person has said. I believe that if you were to come to Jim Bob's you would have a great dining experience, the service is great, the food is great, and the atmosphere is very fitting for the type of restaurant that it is!!
