My daughter and I stopped in at Subway to purchase one of the advertised subs for $5.00 (any sub).After ordering the chicken-bacon ranch sub, the employee said the total came to $6.49. My daughter questioned the amount and mentioned that there must be a lot of tax as she was expecting the amount to be $5 + tax. The employee said we charge a $1.00 for the bacon. ?????

Having purchased this sub before we have not heard that the bacon was priced extra, I did see written on the window as you look into where the toppings are where ONE could ask for extra toppings for a small fee, we did not.

We mentioned that this sub was one advertised for the ANY $5.00 sub and we were told it is not one to be sold at that price. ALTHOUGH there is a bold ANY $5.00 circle advertisement marker in the sub sections of the menu. Two markers in fact.

The second employee said it is posted on the door as you come in. Upon leaving, we read the "Posted Advertisement" it did not state what we were told. It did say premium subs and extra meats were excluded.

We asked about the manager and we were told that she was aware of this problem and that the employee could do nothing about it. When I mentioned it happens to be false advertisement she said that she was aware of that.

In closing, it isn't the fact that we had to pay the full price of the sandwich that was not the problem, the fact that we saw the advertisement and it clearly states inside the establishment that this promotion is for a limited time was quite clearly noted. I feel if you advertise then it should have been followed through and chraged the appropriate price.
