Bad service, unreasonable prices.: This is one store that cares only about making money. They have bought out several small-town music shops and shut them down in less than a year, leaving the local schools' music program to suffer.
When I was unfortunate enough to business with them, their prices were outrageous. I was charged 50-60 dollars for a box of ten Rico reeds, which are the most generic reeds you can get. I would expect that for Rico Grand Concert, or Gonzales reeds, maybe Vandoren, but not Rico. They're all list prices.
Recently, I called the music store to see if they could help me purchase an instrument. I was told "Yeah, sure! We're here to help you!" I was promised the professional instruments I wanted could be shipped to the store in two weeks, and that was the end of it.
I call them while I'm on my way to the Columbia store, only to be told there were NO instruments that I asked for in the store. I was told I would have to pay a deposit, and they asked for HALF DOWN which was non-refundable. That would've been a $4000 payment JUST to play the instrument.
On top of that, I wasted an hour-long drive just to get there only to be told this information after the associate "misinformed" me the first time.
What REALLY upset me is that not only did I waste my time, my gas money, BUT THE ASSOCIATE DID NOT EVEN APOLOGIZE. This was the same associate I spoke with who promised me the instruments could be obtained.
This company only cares about making money and not about helping their customers. My experience with them has never been pleasant, and I have been heavily disappointed every time.
