User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI really don't understand the good reviews of this restaurant. I LOVE Mexican food! I was disappointed with this place. I read the reviews and me and my husband really looked forward to checking it out. We were so disappointed. The service was just ok but the food was mediocre. Won't go back. I can make this at home.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsExcellent, authentic mexican food in a great environment. A nice change from the worst mexican food in town, LaMesa (now that Habaneros is gone). How anyone eats at that place is beyond me. I am retired military and it probably has something to do with individuals not knowing what real good Mexican food is. Go to SW Blvd in KC, KS and eat at any of these authentic places and then come back and you will see Tampico and now Azul Tequila are the only real mexican restaurants in town. AT may have slightly better food but the atmosphere and environment aren't enough to take me away from Tampicos. Love this place.

I really enjoy all three (main) Mexican rest's in Leavenworth, KS. I'm retired military and I meet many of my clients at these establishments when I'm in town! I just ate at all three in the past week. They all have a different flovor and position in location! I'm a customer service consultant and I provide trainig around the world in customer service in the service industry. On any given day the service could be up and down at any of these places - however....I'm usually pleased with all three and I would rate Manny's and La Mesa a solid 4 stars! I've eaten at Tampico at least a dozen times and the service, food and access to the owner is unlike any other Mexican Rest I work with. I have a favorite in Las Vegas, El Paso and Sacramento that rate in the tight 5 star with Tampico!
I would suggest that the owner of Manny's keep the sniping down (whoever is doingthis) as the adverse comments are all derogatory and steer customers to Manny's! Obviously a bias opinion! I've eaten and observed customer service at 1,000's of rest's and I've never had a bad exp at Tampico or Manny's. The only reason for the 4 star at Manny's is the lack of seating space and really no server, chips and salsa etc.. but a great quick spot for a bite. The berating of a local business is Bush League and will hurt your business in the long run!
Enjoy them all and if you see me in Tampico! I've got your guacamole! The best I've ever had!

No but I am married to a Hispanic and have lived in a lot of places like San Antonio and El Paso as well as Southern California. I have seen from a lot of time in the Pacific as well that people tend to develop tastes based on the area they are in and when overseas especially you fall victim of thinking you are eating a good cuisine when in reality it is just all there is.
