The food is not that great and the service is rotton. I have had dinner and brunch there. Everytime there is always something wrong. I will never go there again. Servers don't know the menu like they should. Brunch was like eating dried up food that had been sitting for hous under a heat lamp. I don't see how they stay in business.
Very good and historic restaurant. Expensive for dinner but a great value for lunch.
I'll start with the good points: The house salad is one of the best I have ever had. Great combination of flavors. Also, my Goat Cheese and Parsnip Ravioli with Rabbit was excellent, presenting a complex combination of flavors. It was a bit on the salty side, but most rabbit is soaked in brine prior to cooking, so I was not too suprised. Loved my meal, but......
Now the bad news: My wife's Spinach Ravioli was chewy and thin. My friends both did not like their food either, as it was overcooked and the portions were very small. The Alaskan Sea Bass was more like a thin filet of Talapia and the Seafood Canaloni looked like it had been under a warmer since the lunch rush.
Not impressed with the food for the price. Love the atmosphere and our waitress was adorable, but there are better places to eat in Lawrence. I am going to stick with Mariscos and keep Teller's as my dinner and appetizer spot before activites in Downtown Lawrence.
