User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe India Palace in Lawrence is delicious! As soon as you walk through the door, the smell of Indian food hits you. I LOVE that smell! I like the cozy atmosphere there. The wait staff can be slow and their English is not too good; if you have problems with that, or if you do not like Internationals, then don't go there! But if you have time to stay awhile and be a part of the ambiance and eat wonderful food, then please go here. The chicken tikka masala is out of this world. The nan is YUMMY! The prices might be a little higher than other places in restaurant, but it is not outrageous given the quality of the food. This is not a fast-food joint!
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsVery nice lunch buffet. I'm not familiar with Indian cuisine, and it was nice to see the dishes, in addition to knowing their names. The food was hot and fresh, and our waiter was attentive.

Overall the food was pretty good but the service was horrible. We waited forever to get our food and drinks ordered and even longer for the food to arrive. It seemed to take 40 minutes for the food to arrive, and our order was wrong. Then when I went to check out, the phone rang and the guy at the desk spent 10 minutes on the phone taking an order instead of checking me and another lady (the actual customers in the store) out. I heard the lady complain that the waiter was rude to her. When my visa charge cleared the bank, India Palace charged me more than what I put down on the receipt. Now I have to call them and get it fixed! They can't get anything right.
