Absolutely love their Z-Man sandwich and believe it or not they have awesome Gumbo.

Before I go any further, I should tell the reader that I am a Kansas City BBQ Society Certified Judge and have been for 3 years, so, needless to say, I've eaten a LOT of bbq in my time. On numerous treks to Kansas City I've tried the "big" name bbq spots: Arthur Bryants (clueless to what most see/taste here), Gates (unmemorable), Jack Stack (expensive, but good, and Zerna's (not bad), and I will have to say that Oklahoma Joes is in a league of their own. WONDERFUL food.

I now know why people wait in a lengthy line to order. Anyway, how often is food of this quality made in a convenience store? Just adds to the ambiance.

This place is far superior to JacK Stack. Jack Stack is for Johnson County snobs who don't know any better. Oklahoma Joes is only 2nd to Arthur Bryants. And believe me its a close 2nd. Anthony Bourdain calls Joes one of the ten places you should go before you die.
