This was a huge letdown. It was to be a highlight of our short spring break getaway. The price of the room was $100 more than their usual nightly rate due to spring break and basketball tournament in town. We thought it would be worth it. The wait to check in was ridiculous. There was a huge line. And then when we were all through with the paperwork, they told us our room would not be ready for another 2 to 3 hours!! When finally in the room, it was large and charming, but nothing spectacular. The waterpark is geared mainly towards younger children, which I was not aware of when I made reservation. Staff was polite, but not overly helpful or friendly. Resturaunt and lounge were also disappointing. We were told the only option for dinner was buffet (yuck) or we could order off the bar menu, but had to take it to our room! (Weird!!) We went to a different resturaunt down the road.
Our family has stayed at many upscale and nice resort type hotels and this was the worst experience we've ever had.
If you have older children or teenagers or want to have some adult type fun along with the kids having fun, don't stay at this place. It's not worth the money!!
Are family went up there and had a BLAST!!! The only thing we hated , was to leave!
Great for Kids: This place was a kids dream. A huge indoor water park, and huge outdoor one as well. They have a little activity center that children can go to do things like color and have some calme time. A big arcade, and at night, they have story time in the front lobby. And for the most part, the staff was friendly and very helpful.
The room was large and comfortable. The kids part was build like a little log cabin with their own tv. They loved it and it gave my wife and I a bit of privacy. And while the rooms are a little pricy, you have unlimited access to the water park. This place also has a day spa, fitness center, and laundry room.
I only have two complaints.
1: The staff had little to no knowledge of the internet and how it works. The internet was "down" the whole 2 and a half days we were there. They were not even able to provide us with a local dial-up access number. They had no idea what I was talking about.
2: One of the life guards was asleep at the bottom of one of the water slides. He was asleep for at least the 10 minutes I watched him. I don't know how long he was out before I started watching him.
