Took my wife there last night for our Anniversary, paid $27 for tickets each. They posted a start time of 745. Didn't open the doors till almost 8. The guy at the door, OMG how shady. The guy at the front door was high. Dropped all the tickets and took him forever to pick them up. Then looked down and said to the other guy, we were in General Admission. I had to say wait we are on the floor. But even these seats were bad. You pay for the better seats, thinking weâll have a nice time, then you find out that your sitting directly in the line were the waiterâs walk. The whole time I had to move to get out of their way. Ordered the wings, real bad. No taste to them. Anyway the show started. The first guy to come out, well this must have been his first night. Couldnât even hear him. Unreal. Not even funny. Second Guy, couple funny jokes but again very dry. OK we thought Headliner must be great. Greg Warren. Seems like a nice guy. I think he needs to go back to coaching Wrestling. Somewhat funny and his jokes just didn't really have it. His "One Star" routine not really funny. Also the whole show was only about an hour and 10 minutes. Overall, very poor place and show. My wife and I were talking after the show on how bad the place is managed. Now to be honest we might be the wrong people to ask. We just moved here (2 weeks ago) from the East Coast. Have been to tons of Comedy Clubs in New York, New Jersey and Philly. So this might be how a Midwest place is. If so ok. But this place isn't even in the bottom of Clubs in the East. Sorry, was really looking forward to a fun night.
i love it! i have been to this comedy club the last 4 weeks in a row and think its a blast! weds and thurs they have $10 all you can drink bud light and thats what we usually do. it isnt usually crowded those days and quite relaxing on a weds or thurs evening. If you walk in with a positive relaxed attitude you are bound to have a great time! We have also won free tickets every time we have gone! i didnt think that would ever happen but it did and it has become an activity we do every week!
We got our picture with every comedian we have seen, Damon Wayans Jr even!
I've been to Stanfords many times, and the overall feeling I get from the place is "shady". From the owner, to the staff, the customer service is just not friendly or up front.
I have seen some funny comedians, and some not so funny. Usually the openers are OK.
Some tips -
-Dont bother getting there early, they dont even start seating until about :10 after the printed start time.
-Buy the cheapest seats. The place is so tiny you wont be but 25' from the performer.
- Dont be surprised when your waitress tries to spring a 3 drink minimum on you. No, it's not posted anywhere.
If there's a comedian you like, go check it out. But if you just want to laugh and have a good time, go to the Improv at Zona Rosa.
