EXCELLENT! Sushi isn't cheap anywhere if it is fresh and of good quality (the two from newport beach). Here in Kansas you get one piece per order at any sushi restaurant. Ive been around town and tried 13 Kansas City sushi restaurants so far.
Anyhow, Sushi House overly beat any other sushi place in town! The tuna melted in your mouth, the white fish varieties weren't straight from the freezer and fishy, and they have so many rolls to choose from for picky eaters! Try the godzilla, spicy temptation, or summer roll. You MUST get the garlic shrimp appetizer (only $8- the same as you would pay at applebees!). I get it every time, there is nothing more saucy and delicious anywhere. They have a HEALTHY KIDS MENU TOO!
The killer interior makes you feel as if you were in a trendy dig in Manhattan too; and when I first went there, I arrived in my gym outfit, not a fancy dress, and got excellent service still. Every time I go I get excellent service!
Freshest fish in town, best service in town, and expected prices (it is a bit expensive- but worth it) make this my absolute fave hands down.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I felt way overcharged and I am from Newport, Cali: They don't charge by order of 2 pieces,,,,,
Instead they charge for one-piece what Newport Beach charged for two-pieces.
Each single-piece of sushi was about $3, and I wasn't happy to see my bill.
We each drank only water and had 6 small pieces of sushi (3 orders in Cali) and our bill was about $50. I will never go there again. The place wasn't even that nice and the service was only average. I have never written a review, but I was so sickened by the cost that I had to speak up.
The Biggest Issue: I've been to A LOT of sushi places being from California. While the fish was good, the prices are absolutely absurd. I lived in Newport Beach, CA and would pay half what I paid at this place for the exact same thing. An order of sushi for Sushi House is only 1 piece, not the standard 2 pieces you should get for an "order". It's too bad they are so overpriced because in my opinion this will only discourage people from sushi...and if you're in the midwest trying to run a sushi business that is the last thing you want.
