I can't believe this place actually got 3.5 stars. Well before I rated it anyway. If you read any of the reviews about this place, take mine the most serious.
This place is NOT Mexican food. First off the chips were hard and stale and the salsa was bland. The enchiladas had some kinda secret sauce similar to McDonald's Big Mac's on it with cheese also. It seemed like the whole plate was covered in cheese. Probably to cover up the boring, blandness. And the sopapillas were very small for the price you pay for them
Folks, DO NOT let this food define Mexican or Tex-Mex food for you. I am from Texas so I know what I am talking about. There are much better places than this. Manhattan is a small Kansas town and there is not much of a selection, but if you want very decent Mexican food, then go to La Fiesta on Tuttle Creek Blvd. They have very good food and it is not as expensive. And it is actually A-U-T-H-E-N-T-I-C! I do not know why some of these people actually gave it 5 stars. They must have just got out of prison or rescued from the wilderness and had not eaten for weeks...
I highly do not recommend this place. But you could have guessed that from what is written above.
Over priced crappy food. Our food didn't looked cooked it looked Microwaved. We paid $40.02 for two adults and one child to eat there...never again. On the plus side our waitress was very nice and timely with ever thing.
Don't get me wrong the food is great, but what gets them the one star is the horrible service. It seems that they have hired the bottom of the barrel college kids that have never worked a day in their lives because the service is painfully slow, if they even notice that you are there. Don't bother with Carlos O'Kelly's and take the extra time to go to a real mexican restaurant!
