Dr. Peterson is a high-quality veterinarian. I have taken many cats to him for 15 years and he has always shown himself to really care about them. Unlike past vets I have taken animals to, he never chains them to the table to examine, or appears to be fearful of them, or to care more about dogs, and treats EVERY animal as we all would like our MDs to treat us as patients but too few do. I have never seen Dr. Peterson to rush through anything and he always takes the time to explain what and why and how when it comes to an animal's health-care.
The ONLY thing that distressed me was when I brought in my 15-year-old beloved cat, wasting away from kidney failure, and at the time gasping for Life and Dr. Peterson was far too matter-of-fact when he euthanized him. The cat, hardly able to move, scratched him, and Dr. P. grabbed clippers and cut off Scruffy's nails and said, "Imagine that! Being scratched by a dead cat!" as he injected the death shot. But I have heard MDs say far worse things in thoughtless moments in front of people who could understand what they said.
If you are looking for a high-quality veterinarian who has a good personality and will spend whatever time is required to answer your pet quesitons, Dr. Peterson is the one. His brother-in-law is also a local DVM and has less personality but is very GOOD as well.
