    I worked at J's while going to school at Emporia State. They have the best burgers in the state and the owner is a great guy. I really enjoyed working there and eating there was even better. You have to get the grilled onions on your burger and the ham and cheese is awesome. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Glad to read the reviews that J's is still going strong 10 years after I left.

    Not sure what the big deal is about. It's a thin, fatty burger on a plain ol, mushy white bun. Yeah. It's actually pretty gross.

    A 20-year plus veteran of J's. Though I've not lived in Emporia for 14 years, I always visit when in town. The highest quality beef utilized (raised specifically for the burger joint by a rancher in the region, processed by a locker plant in the area - means a very lean, high quality burger) prepared on a grill seasoned daily by grilling onions. The burgers are superior, as is the grilled ham and cheese. The owners are always around, working and serving the customers, maintaining their high expectations for customer service and quality food. I've searched the state for a better burger, but haven't found one as of yet.
