   teachers don't want to deal with crying kids.
   my daughter, who is two, had some trouble adjusting to the new school, so the second day, the teachers called me asking me to pick her up after just one hour, because she was crying on and off. i suppose they didn't want to have to deal with her. i picked her up and the next day, one of the teachers asked me to bring her only three days a week and only for two hours a day because " it would be easier for her". i said that would only make it even more difficult for her to adjust if she'll be there for only six hours a week, but they didn't want to discuss the subject. ( i initially enrolled her for five days a week, four hours a day ). my husband tried talking to the teachers but that didn't work either. my opinion is that they didn't want to be disturbed by a crying kid. so i decided to take her to a different school, where the teacher tried to actually confort her when she was crying! and after just one week she adjusted, loves the kids and the teacher was very shocked to hear that teachers at discovery considered her a problem child!!! this could be a good school if your child will never go through the separation anxiety, but if they do, i wouldn't even consider discovery. the teachers don't want to be bothered.

   My daughter has been attending Discovery Place since the fall of 2007. We absolutely love this school. Her teachers and the staff are so caring and compassionate. They are great at keeping us informed of how our daughter is doing. We frequently receive a collage of pictures of her performing activities in the classroom. They have an exceptional curriculum which allows the children to learn by exploring and through sensory play. Our daughter has so much fun at school. We love all of the artwork and amazing creations she brings home. In our experience, everyone at the school is so approachable, friendly, and willing to help and address any of our questions. We love that the staff develops and maintains such great parent/teacher/staff relationships. We couldn't be happier!

   My child went to Discovery Place last year and had a wonderful experience. She was in Room 6 and had amazing learning experiences that I believe have helped her in her kindergarten classroom. Along with this, she brought home some amazing pieces of artwork that I have displayed all throughout the house! It's amazing how well prepared she was for her ventures into the public school world, and how easily she has adjusted to the new classroom setting and the academic environment. I am very pleased with the time my child spent at Discovery Place and I only wish I'd been able to keep her there longer!
