    A hidden gem. One of my favorite memories of visiting my grandparents in Clay Center was enjoying a nut roll or 2 or 3 or ......you get the idea. I live for the day when Bobby Flay visits Clay Center for a pastry throw down and concedes defeat after his first bite of a nut roll. He has no chance against the Tasty Pastry Bakery. I love this place - just wish I didn't live 700 miles away.

    Love it so much I'm going to use their smiley face cookies as a dessert for my wedding. A classic, hidden excellent hometown gem. If you go through Clay Center without eating some of their donuts or smiley face cookies, you have missed out.
