The best food in town. Great service and the selection for wine is wonderful. The service is alway professional and friendly.
Blue Duck is charming: The Blue Duck serves the best steak ever, in fact the man at the next table said he didn't know steak could taste so good. There is also duck on the menu. A very tender breast served with a savory blueberry sauce which is not too sweet and compliments the dish well. They have the best wine selection at any place in town and a very well informed bartender. I once ordered a special wine that was not on the wine list, and they went out and got a bottle for me! They are right around the corner from the historic Fox theatre and lots of the performers dine at the Duck. They also get astronauts because the Cosmosphere is close by. Drop in for a meal, you never know who you will see.
What a Joke!: My dining experience at the Blue Duck Bistro was enough to make a blue duck turn red!
The young man who brought water and I use young man loosely, didn't know what soda water was when I requested it instead of tap water. He returned with tap water for my dinner partner and nothing for me. I asked him ..."Did you forget something...soda water?" He looked at me as if I had asked him to evaluate a space mission and responded, "I don't know what that is". I told him he might try asking someone. He stomped off and stood by the bar for sometime, and returned with soda water, slamming it down on the table. The waiter came finally... we ordered margaritas. We had to wait for them to get the mix out of the supply room, the margaritas were served warm and with no salt which we requested.
Dinner.... ala cart...
$6. For a salad that had a dollars worth of items on it.
Salmon.... $18 for an end piece that was dry.
Dessert....$6 for dessert, that was a runny custard. AND the dessert menu had 10 items, and they were out of 7 of the choices.
During our dinning time, we suffered thru watching the wait staff dance in the aisles with each other. A man who appeared to be the owner or chef, came out to hug people, walked right by our table and never spoke or asked how our meal was. The one positive ..... the food was tasty.... but not worth the money they charge.
The waiter brings the bill over to the table and says, "I put everything on one bill, is that ok? He should have asked before bringing the bill.
Summary... the food is over priced for a small town, the restaurant is a poor imitation of a wanna be up scale restaurant. If you are looking to get rid of money you don't know what to do with and enjoy overpriced food with bad service the Blue Duck Bistro is your spot.
