Dined at Vivace over the weekend.
Stellar, knowledgeable and friendly service. An excellent dining experience.
I will be a return customer!
We were very excited to go to an Italian Place in the Old Market area and thought Vivace sounded great. We were very disappointed, however. The prices were on the high side for what type of ingredients were used, in my opinion. I ordered the Parma Rosa, which sounded wonderful, but looked and tasted like a garbage can had tipped over into my bowl. There were too many different items in this dish, and none of them seemed to compliment one another very well.
We also ordered a pizza and it came back burnt, and very unflavorful, besides the burnt taste.
The wine selection was large, but only if it was to be ordered by the bottle. The wine selection by the glass was very small, and very pricey.
We only had one night in this area and wished we had gone to a different place.
It was okay: I went here on a Tuesday evening. The location is great, the interior about what you would expect at a brewpub or grill. The menu had a good variety to choose from.
I ordered the Chicken Roulade, a chicken breast stuffed with sausage and other goodies. It was dry, and except for the spicy sauce rather bland. Very edible, but not great.
The dessert tray was the highlight. Velvet cake, creme brule, a chocolate coffee torte, a banana cheesecake, and a couple of other choices that didn't really register once the brule and I made eye contact. Magnificient.
The total of $31 for iced tea, entree, dessert, and 20% gratuity was a bit steep, but not overly so.
I'd go again, but next time it'll be for the dessert.
