User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsIt would be nice if El Bees would update their information and enclose an enlclose an updated picture of the new restuarant. There has been so much work done to make this new place appealing, that additional pictures would contirbute to the content of this web site.

My family ate here tonight(6/8/08) and were so dissapointed by the awful service. We are still brewing about it. The waitress did not greet us and was snappy and rude. She never cleared our plates, offered anyone refills on our drinks (we had to go to the bar to get more water and soda) and only came to our table to drop off the bill. We waited for 15 minutes with a messy table filled with plates, empty glasses and a our payment for our bill. Finally I complained to the Hostess and she said she would send the Manager over. It gets WORSE! The so called "Manager" marched over to our table and was so unprofessional and rude. He was already on the extreme defensive and would not let us explain what was wrong. I asked if he could clear our plates and.....
before I could say anything else he snapped "WE ARE VERY BUSY TONGIHT AND MOST PEOPLE WOULD UNDERSTAND"! I could not believe it. This is the absolute last time we will ever go there. The Manager didn't even "get it". PS) It was NOT busy until we left!!!!!!! -

El Bee's? It's El Cheese!: At El Bee's, they throw so much cheese on their items that we call it El Cheese at our house. It's one of the best Mexican places around. The Tacos, Chicken/Cheese Enchiladas and Nachos are my favorites, but all other items are excellent as well! The dishes always come out bubbling hot and packed full with food! They even have pretty good Mexican rice. It's hard to find good Mexican rice sometimes.
The prices are pretty reasonable as well. Always great, friendly service there in Waterloo, NE. Haven't been to the other location, so I can't comment on that one. We live in North/West Omaha, so the Waterloo location is a lot closer to us. It's always nice to take a short drive to El Cheese when we are craving Mexican food!

We have been eating at El Bee's since 1982... (once a week or atleast 2-3 times a month) the only thing that I could or would change is to serve coke-cola product's..They must be doing something right to stay in business all this time in a small town like Waterloo...my town could only be so luckly to have such a place to eat. My daugther and son-in-law live in Fort Collins, Colo and can't wait to eat at El Bees, each vist... it's great Mexican food, Margaritas, chips and salsa are soooo good, always friendly and fast..but they do get really busy at times..thats because WHY? they/it must be good......
We've eaten at El Bees 200 - 300 times over for past 10 years. The staff is reliably attentive and friendly. It's not a 5 star restaurant, but the margaritas are great, the food is tasty, and the staff friendly and efficient. It's hard to beat on a Friday night. The above review should be disregarded. It's an injustice to this well-managed restaurant and popular restaurant.
