User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsMy family and I went to the location on Hwy 50 Friday night. The food was great. The portions were large, even the kids menu was alot of food. The margaritas are probably the best I have ever had. The only down fall of the whole experience was our waitress was not very friendly. We had asked for refills for the kids and they had to end up going and getting there own. My oldest daughter is 18 and was curious as to how old our waitress was (she looked very young) so we asked her and she said she is 18. Solved the reasoning behind her immaturity and attitude she came across with. We will go back and hopefully we get a more mature waitress.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsExcellent!: Absolutely one of the best places you will find to eat Tex-Mex is El Bee's. I've been to both locations, the one in Waterloo and the one in Sarpy County, and both are amazingly good.
The portions are sizeable (the enchiladas are 10 inches long!), and prepared to perfection. The seasonings are spicy with just the right amount of heat....not the typically weak seasonings found at lesser restaurants.
As one who has lived in Texas, I can attest that El Bee's outdoes many Texas Tex-Mex restaurants. The portion size and the prices are much better than in San Antonio.....and, well.....I haven't had better nachos anywhere. If I manage to return to Texas, I will miss being able to go to El Bee's....but it'll be something to bring me back to Nebraska on a regular basis.
Prices are reasonable, beer selection is good and they take checks, plastic and paper. Go early on Saturdays, but be prepared for a wait....both locations are popular, and well worth the wait.
UPDATE: Have been back to both the Waterloo and Sarpy County locations. The nachos are nothing if not better (more cheese!), and the enchiladas are still amazing! I believe they've reduced the amount of onion in the cheese and onion enchiladas, which isn't necessarily bad, since it gives the cheese a chance to really shine.
The only Mexican I've had north of the Guadalupe that's anywhere near this good is...well...I'll let you know when I do. I still HIGHLY recommend BOTH El Bee's!
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis is a great place to eat and go to relax!: My husband and I love to go to this place. They have great food. Great margaritas. If you want to take the kids they are welcome. The service is wonderful. We have a good time everytime we go here.
