Worth the trip!: I was in South Souix City on business. I asked at the hotel where to go for a good steak dinner. Surprisingly, rather than sending me north to Souix City they sent me south to Hungry's.
The outside of the building stopped me short. It looks like a roadside, hick dive. I went in anyway. The inside looks a little dark and the fixtures matches the age of the building but its exceptionally clean. It was a Saturday night and busy but we were quickly seated.
I ordered a T-Bone and baked potato and tucked into the salad bar.
The steak was exceptional. In fact it spoiled me! I've eaten in some of the finest steak houses in the East including Morton's and Peter Luger's. The only thing that they have on Hungry's is more mordern facilities.
Hungry's staff is friendly and hospitable. The steak was tender enough to cut with a fork!
Its a long trip from Connecticut to Nebraska but if I have a chance to return I'm making a bee line for Hungry's!
