About:Built in 1834, Broussard's was once known as the Borello Mansion. In 1920, Joseph Broussard and his wife Rosalie Borello opened the lower level of this mansion to the public as a small restaurant. The subtle elegance and the imperial decor are reminiscent of Napoleonic days gone by. Broussard's Parisian culinary training, coupled with his demand for perfection, made this a five-star restaurant. Choose from such Creole classics as Pompano Evelyn or baked filet of redfish.

Would never go back!: While on our convention trip to New Orleans, the owner of our company wanted to take 17 of us out for a very nice dinner. She picked Broussard's. She made a reservation for 18 of which they accepted. We showed up for our reservation, all 18 of us...and we had to wait for 45 min before we were seated! Then we were told we would not be seated together. They put 12 at 1 table and 6 at another. If you couldn't handle 18 you should not have taken the reservation. Then our server suggested instead of us each picking what we wanted off the menu, we should agree on the same 1 or 2 items to make it easier on them. We didn't get to eat until 2hrs after our reservation time! The service was awful, with the exception of our wonderful bus boy : ) Who we all went & tipped individually & told him not to share it. When the bill came, for which our owner was footing to the tune of $1200+...it had of course a gratuity already on it (for the worst service I have ever had!) She asked to speak with the manager, who I believe is the owners son, she politely explained our evening experiences, the only thing he offered...rudeness & lack of care. I tell everyone that I meet that is going to New Orleans or hoping to someday, to never ever eat there. Seriously the worst service any of us have ever experienced. I will never go back.

What a beautiful restaurant! When you first approach it from the street, you have no idea of how gorgeous the dining rooms and courtyard are. The night that I dinner there they had a wedding in the courtyard and what appeared to be some type of corporate event in another room that runs adjacent to the courtyard (I was told that the room was originally stables built on the early 1800's). I brought my family and at first was concerned that the menu had nothing for small children ( 7and 5 years old), but my waiter quickly assured me that the chef would be happy to make them up a fried chicken tender or fried shrimp plate with French fries, they were thrilled. I started with the Crabmeat Broussard's, delightful and then had the Bouillabaisse, I didn’t know that you could fit that much seafood in a bowl! Hubby had the Broussard's salad, with spinach, bacon and mushrooms, the dressing was incredible! For dinner he had the Veal Broussard's loaded with sweet crabmeat. I would have been jealous if my dinner hadn't been so good. The service was great, not pushy or intrusive yet somehow knowing what we wanted without asking. Finished off with tableside Crepes Flambe in a strawberry sauce. I definitely recommend Broussard's and will make it a constant part of my travel plans in New Orleans!

Best Meal of My Life: Lovely bartender Marie took my group's pictures when we visited in Feb. 07. I am big fan of service especially when your paying big bucks. The service was excellent. The oysters rockafeller were perfect. Everyone enjoyed thier meal, but mine was the best. My lamb medallions melted in my mouth!! I'll never forget it. P.S. I asked to see the wine list and they brought me a book the size of a dictionary!
