I LOVE NICKS RANGE.. i go there 1-4 times a month, when ever i can. There are alot of great shooters that vist there also. Hey the place isnt red carpet but what counts is a good bench to shoot off of, a roof to keep the sun off your neck, good target frames, and the price is right.membership is about 75$ a yr and 5 $ a visit with no time limits! what do you want for a buck? NICK & Paul are very helpfull, i see them work with new shooters all the time. if you have question just yell at one of them and they come a running. One thing i can say is you will get all the attention you need from novice to pro shooter, and thats FREE!

i was having some trouble with a gun yelled at nick to take a look at it..he took the gun looked it over gave it back to me with 20 rounds of 50$ ammo and told me to try that. HE DIDNT EVEN CHARGE ME FOR THE ROUNDS! I SHOT A COUPLE OF ROUNDS THEN SOLD HIM THE RIFLE:))LIKE A MONTH LATER.

While the staff of Nick's is professional, the facilities are anything but professional. Its hard to choose the worst feature, whether its the junky trailer which is their office/store, the actual range conditions, or the porta potty that serves as a wildlife habitat. Seriously, entering the trailer, it feels like you are about to fall through the floor. However, range price isn't bad at $15/day, but bring your own supplies (ammo, targets) because their prices are relatively high. I would go to another range, but the New Orleans metro area doesn't have many options for rifle ranges.

Well, it is very " country " out there -- but while they're serious about safety and rule-following, they're nice people and there's a laid-back South Louisiana vibe about the place. I'm a staunch supporter of gun rights but the odd and tense atmosphere at some shooting ranges and gun stores makes me feel like I'm surrounded by " gun nuts " and puts me on edge - this place doesn't do that. Also, nick gave my rifle a tune-up for free, which was nice. Nick took my gun into his shop and did some adjustment for me for free, w

Very professional and clean range for everyone!: I am pleased to not only shoot USPSA sanctioned pistol matches there but to head out on any given day and go practice this perishable sport of target shooting. Nick's is run by professionals with a gun smith on duty, safety is paramount - safety is everything at Nicks plus the range is always clean not to mention set back off the highway in a private setting. The range boasts a 100 yard rifle and pistol range with target settings at any distance the shooter may desire as well as a steel plate rack for steel challenge matches and plate practicing. Unfortunately they do not allow Class III firearms but you can fire you .50 there. My entire family enjoys shooting there to keep in practice for competitions and I can't say enough. They have memberships for anyone and LEO's receive a free membership with presentation of valid credentials or commission. We frequently take photographs there and they can be found below for the ones who wanted a picture of what the range may look like. All equipment is available to shooters from targets to bench equipment including spotting scopes and as usual the eyes-ears protection, target stands, staple guns, and much more. I strongly advise you buy yourself some eye and ear protection should you not have your own. They also have ammo for sale, nice selection of firearms, reloading equipment and more. You are allowed to police up your own brass if you are a reloader and expected to leave your shooting lane clean as you find it when you arrive - this is common practice for the avid shooter to make sure he leave his shooting environment as clean if not cleaner then he found it.The one thing you will find at Nicks that you will not find at most ranges is professional assistance on the line at all times should you have a problem and may be new to shooting, feel free to ask for assistance, they are very polite and professional. Usually the shooters there are also Practical Pistol Competitors and avid gun collectors and are always willing to lend a hand as I do anywhere I shoot. I always find myself offering advice where its needed and Nicks stands above the snobby Range Officers found at most ranges - you are treated with hospitality there.
