Such a shame! This could be a really nice resturant..Small but nice inside...I ordered the oysters salad..What I got was one oyster with some lettuce..$9.00.. Very disappointed..Then I ordered the duck that is supposed to come with a breast and leg quarter with ravioli..What came on my plate was a hollow ravioli, a small piece of duck full of fat and no leg quarter!!! OH" Yea can"t forget the three french fries..$24.00..I"m not looking for them to be on Top Chef.Wine was good !!I"m just not feeling a return visit!!
This River Town establishment truly exceded our expectations. The service was perfectly attentive-- not intrusive in any way. The atmosphere is cozy yet elegant.
The food was the big surprise here. As another reviewer commented, it is not "typical" Italian cuisine; it is multi-dimensional, creative, and far from boring. We ordered the specials of the day; we were blown away. Example: Salad of heirloom tomatoes and green with a warm prosciutto (sp?) dressing with goat cheese and walnuts.
The executive chef uses what's in season, so the non-dessert menu is not static.
The dessert selections were very traditional: tiramisu, creme brulee, spumoni. The Tiramisu was very good.
We will definitely come back here, and we can't wait.
This place is great, If you like romance, atmosphere, and the feeling that you are in Italy. This is the place for you. The owners and staff (Family) are a joy to watch and talk to. It's like you are in someones home, who love to entertain guest. The food is absolutely one of the reasons I keep going back. It is not like the so called red sauce and pasta places. It is very refreshing and you feel it was made just for you. Piero's wine selection is very good. unlike some higher end restaurants, you get your moneys worth. I hope you try it...I know if you do...It will be one of your favorites too.
