I went to Cafe Degas this past sunday for brunch and it was wonderful. I had a crepe with crabmeat and asparagus, my date had the grillades and grits. The food was delicious, I sampled the grits and they were the creamiest I had ever had. We finished by sharing a cheese plate. The restaurant was open to the outside and we could feel the cool breeze coming in. What a great way to spend a sunday afternoon.
A taste of France!: Cafe Degas has been a tradition for locals, and locals were very please to see a quick re-opening after this year's devastating hurricane. The menu is as excellent as the wine, and the staff, although having changed somewhat, is as reliable as ever. Visit Chef for his oustanding and inventive dishes, and ask Jacques for his wine recommendation. Art enthusiasts will also love this ambiance, for the restaurant showcases different local artists every few weeks.
