| About: | The original Antoine's, established in 1840, resided only a block from the restaurant's present location. This family-owned establishment, now in its fifth generation of management, bears the namesake of its creator, Antoine Alciatore. The French Quarter restaurant has 15 dining rooms, each with its own New Orleans-inspired decor. The service is adequate and the food is exceptional. The seafood entrees are among the best items on the menu, especially the Oysters Rockefeller, which were first created here before all others imitated. |

The atmosphere is untouchable but out of our party of 20, only 7 meals were exceptional. Three were not good and the rest were mediocre. Service was below average. The building is phenomenal and our tour was awesome. I'll die happy knowing I've been there but I would never go again.
A fancy/elegant dining experience, for sure. If that's what you are looking for, Antoines delivers. But, the food was not memorable (I do recall that my butter had a hair in it). Another New Orleans fixture that lives on reputation alone but doesn't necesarily live up to the reputation. One diner's view.
What a fantastic experience. It has a supper-club atmosphere and while it is elegant, it was never stuffy. They put wine or sparkling water in a silver bucket, on a tray, on the floor by your table. So much of old world NOLA still remains. Service was friendly and attentive. DO NOT miss the Crawfish Bisque. Oooh-la-la. Alligator Bisque was also wonderful, as were the salads.
