About:This ultimate beer tavern has been a favorite watering hole since 1977. Cooter Brown's Tavern & Oyster Bar boasts more than 400 brands of imported and domestic bottled beer and more than 40 on tap. The atmosphere is something like a sports bar, with eight color TVs, video poker games and pool tables. Surprisingly good cuisine makes the trip uptown on the trolley worth it. One example of the great bar food is the Cheese Fries, a favorite of the locals.

    I live a few blocks away and stop in often for BEST late night meals. My favorite is the Looter Special. Also they have a great beer selection and raw oysters... a perfect combination!

    Parking sucks though.

    This place is a beer drinkers paradise. The selection seems endless and is always changing. Cooter's has a wonderful atmosphere and is a great place to grab a late night snack.

    Is there any better place? I think NOT!: Four years of late nite cramming and the best place to celebrate afterwards is hands down Cooter Browns. I was introduced to the place by recommendations. I Loved it. Here I am saying goodbye! College is done and I'm going home. Woohoo! The atmosphere has always been great. The service is wonderful. They serve all the alkie you can think of. Dare and do the oyster shots! The food is also surprisingly good. If you want something different go next door for some quick, easy thai food and come right back. Free wi-fi allows you to enjoy a meal or a drink and study or browse the web. I will truly miss this place. Thank you for the memories~
