| About: | While the clubs in the French Quarter usually get most of the attention, they are not the only ones that produce good times with even better music. The walls of pressed tin are hovered over by ceiling fans that work overtime, all the time. A funky but fun atmosphere envelopes this club that is popular mainly for dancing. Club goers pick their spot then move and groove to the sounds of blues, zydeco and R&B.This hot spot in the Carrollton area does require a cab ride, but is well worth the fare. It is open daily at 3pm. |

Most Authentic: I have enjoyed music here for 18 years and there is none better. Loud, smokey, noisy and sometimes smelly - always a good time.
Yup, It rocks: I've become somewhat of a regular at Maple Leaf. Hadn't heard of the place til I returned to the city from Katrina, and was looking for a place to meet lots of good people. I definitely found it here. There's a GREAT band every night. I especially like Rebirth Brass Band on Tuesday Night, but like I said... there's a great band every night. The bartendars are excellent. Shout out to Alexa!
New Orleans at it's best: Maple Leaf Bar is a little well-known gem tucked away in a quaint neighborhood uptown. Sure it's a hole in the wall, but where else can you hear such great bands, get a good mix of people and a good drink-- all while getting a mini massage? This place rocks! It's one of the historic places in the city. If you're ever in town, you've got to stop by this bar and sample a little piece of Nola.
